子曰未之思也未何遠之有	豈不爾思室是遠而	唐棣之華偏其反而

The necessity of reflection.
1. "How the flowers of the aspen-plum flutter and turn! Do I not think of you? But your house is distant."
2. The Master said, "It is the want of thought about it. How is it distant?"

Legge IX.30.

The flowers of the cherry tree,
How they wave about!
It's not that I do not think of you,
But your home is so far away.
The Master commented, 'He did not really think of her. If he did, there is no such thing as being far away.

Lau [9:31]

« Le cerisier sauvage lui-même agite ses fleurs. Comment ne penserais-je pas à vous ? Mais vous demeurez loin d'ici. » Le Maître dit : « S'il pensait vraiment à elle, qu'importerait la distance1 ? »

1. Ainsi en est-il de l'idéal humain de Confucius. Comme vers la bien-aimée, si l'on n'y tend pas de tout son être, cet idéal reste inaccessible (MBC).

Couvreur IX.29.

31. 'Betapa indah bunga Tang Di. Selalu bergoyang menarik. Bukan aku tidak mengenangmu, hanya tempatmu terlampau jauh.' Membaca itu Nabi bersabda, "Sesungguhnya engkau tidak memikirkannya benar-benar. Kalau benar-benar, apa artinya jauh ?'
